Lateef Adedimeji, a Nigerian director and actor, has disclosed that in 2014, he received inadequate compensation despite starring in major motion pictures.
The actor claimed to have seen the time as a teaching opportunity and a place to learn.
The “Jagun Jagun” actor disclosed that, ten years ago in 2014, he was paid as little as N4,000 for a major role. Lateef Adedimeji claims that he began getting paid between N100,000 and N200,000 for a role in a film in 2015.
He made this revelation on the most recent “Deep Dive” podcast, which comic Teju Babyface hosts.
“If I tell people that I wasn’t collecting N100,000, N200,000 until 2015/16, a lot of people would not believe me,” stated Lateef Adedimeji.
Prior to that, the greatest amount I could haveThe payment for a starring role was N4,000, N5,000, or N10,000.
