Habeeb Olalomi, also known as Portable, is a controversial street pop musician who has drawn a lot of criticism.
Within hours after posting contentious remarks regarding the ongoing protests in the nation, he lost 100,000 Instagram followers.
Portable asserted that there were no protests in Sango, Ogun State, where he resides, in a video that went viral online.
He clarified that because the government had disregarded earlier protests, he and others in his community had been forced to concentrate on their everyday work.
Many of his supporters, however, were offended by his remarks. According to a well-known site, Portable lost 100,000 Instagram followers in less than 12 hours after uploading the video.
Many of his fans made good on their threats to unfollow him after warning that they would. Many more followers have vowed to stop following the musician if these kinds of remarks are made in the future.
In another video, Portable likened himself to billionaire Aliko Dangote and characterised protests as events aimed at the impoverished.
