In a recent interview, the actor revealed that while he was initially excited to hear Olamide mention “Yemi My Lover” in his song, he’s still hurt by the fact that there was no compensation, no acknowledgment — not even a callback.
“I Called Him for Six Months…”
According to Yemi, he was chatting with Fuji star Pasuma when the topic came up. Pasuma asked him if Olamide had reached out after using the name.
“I was happy when he used it, honestly. But Pasuma asked me if he compensated me, and I told him no. That’s when he gave me Olamide’s number,” he shared.

The actor claims he tried reaching out to Olamide for six months straight — calling, texting — but never got a response. Eventually, he gave up and moved on.
“Pasuma gave me Olamide’s number & I called him for over six months but he never picked up, so I just let it go.”
