A 35-year-old woman, Hadiza Mamuda, has been arrested for allegedly killing her husband during a heated domestic argument — and the details are heartbreaking.

The incident reportedly occurred in Garin Abba village, located in Fika Local Government Area of Yobe State, and was confirmed in a statement released on Wednesday, July 23, by police spokesperson SP Dungus Abdulkarim.

What Really Happened?

According to the Yobe State Police Command, Hadiza allegedly used a log of wood to fatally strike her husband during an intense dispute over food. Yes, you read that right — food.

“The suspect reportedly used a log of wood to fatally assault the victim following a domestic disagreement,”the police statement read.

The man — a polygamist with two wives and five children — was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Omo, just like that… a family has been torn apart.

Ongoing Investigation & Police Reaction

The suspect is currently in police custody as authorities conduct a full investigation. The command stated that charges will be filed in court as soon as the investigation is completed.

Reacting to the disturbing case, Yobe State Commissioner of Police, CP Emmanuel Ado, strongly condemned the act and used the opportunity to call for more awareness on the dangers of domestic violence.

“There is an urgent need for marital community intervention initiatives,” CP Ado emphasized, urging religious and community leaders to ramp up education efforts around conflict resolution in marriages.

He added that disagreements should never escalate into violence, and couples should seek counseling or mediationinstead of turning to aggression.

Police Vows Justice

The Yobe State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to justice and promised to ensure that the case is handled with the seriousness it deserves. The community is still in shock, as many continue to reflect on how a domestic issue spiraled into tragedy.
