The home-based Super Eagles are officially stepping into the next gear of their 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) preparations — and it’s about to get real on the Island of Zanzibar.
According to reports, Éric Chelle’s squad touched down in Zanzibar on Friday for the second phase of their CHAN training camp, with two test matches lined up against the East African side.
Omo this is going to hot!
The first friendly match is scheduled for Monday, July 28, while the second leg will go down on Thursday, July 31. After the double-header, the Nigerian team is expected to move into their official base ahead of the tournament.
The CHAN 2024 draw hasn’t been so kind either — Nigeria has been placed in Group D, alongside Senegal, Sudan, and Congo. No small boys here!
Their opening game? A spicy showdown against title holders Senegal on Wednesday, August 7, at the Amman Stadium.
With this kind of group, omo pressure go plenty, but these friendly matches could be the boost they need before the main show begins.
