Thibaut Courtois has made his intentions clear—he’s not going anywhere. The Belgian shot-stopper has publicly declared that he wants to retire at Real Madrid, as talks over a new contract continue behind the scenes.

In a statement shared by Madrid Xtra, Courtois said:

“My renewal? Talks are ongoing. I want to stay at Real Madrid for as long as possible. My dream is to retire at Real Madrid.”

Omo, imagine ending your career in royal white. That’s legendary stuff!

Courtois, who is currently tied to the club until 2026, is reportedly negotiating an extension that could see him remain at the Bernabéu beyond his mid-30s.

Since joining Los Blancos from Chelsea in 2018, the 33-year-old has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. He’s helped the team clinch multiple major trophies—including the UEFA Champions League and LaLiga titles—with countless clutch performances in big games.

Let’s not forget, this man also has history with Atlético Madrid from his early career days, but it’s clear his heart now belongs fully to Real.

According to reports, the club values his loyalty and leadership, especially after the injury-hit 2024/25 season that saw him work hard to get back to top form.

If all goes according to plan, fans might just see Courtois hang up his gloves in Madrid—ending a decorated career right where he found his prime.
