Kendry Paez Heads to Ligue 1 on Loan
Meanwhile, Chelsea also confirmed that Ecuadorian wonderkid Kendry Paez has been sent out on loan to RC Strasbourg for the 2025/26 season.
Paez, who joined Chelsea from Independiente del Valle, already has significant first-team experience — with 70 club appearances and 18 international caps for Ecuador, despite being just 18 years old.
“We look forward to monitoring and supporting Kendry‘s development throughout his time in France. Good luck, Kendry,” the club added.
E be like Chelsea dey groom him slowly for the long run. Man no small at all.
What This Means for Chelsea’s Future
The double announcement shows Chelsea’s continued strategy of investing in youth while also developing players through their loan network, especially via their connection with RC Strasbourg.
Paez is expected to gain valuable European experience in France before returning to Stamford Bridge, while Derry may soon be integrated into Chelsea’s U21 or senior squad, depending on his progress.
