According to reports, the governor dismissed claims of any rift, insisting that his relationship with Udom remains solid. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television, Eno said he will forever be grateful to God for using Udom to bring him into power.

“Governor Udom Emmanuel is a man I truly respect. Without God using him, I wouldn’t be here today,” Eno said.

He went further to remind the public of his long history with Udom Emmanuel, having served under him as Executive Director of Agric Investment and later as Adviser for Lands before becoming governor.

“Mentoring Was Never About Staying in One Party”

Omo, here’s where it gets hot — Eno revealed that their mentoring relationship was never about remaining in the same political party forever. According to him, leadership decisions are dynamic and must be taken with sensitivity to timing.

He explained:

“The part of mentoring was about governing the state and serving the people, not about being in the same party forever. Political decisions are dynamic.”

The governor stressed that his conscience is clear and he has not disrespected his political godfather in any way. “I wasn’t raised that way,” he added, while promising to always respect past leaders of the state.
