Dangote Refinery Drops Petrol Price to N820 per Litre

Nigerians woke up to fuel price relief on Tuesday as the Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced a ₦30 cut in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol.

The announcement, made by Dangote Group’s Chief Branding and Communications Officer, Anthony Chiejina, revealed that the new price is ₦820 per litre, down from the previous ₦850, with the change taking effect immediately from August 12, 2025.

Why the Price Cut?

In the official statement, Chiejina described the move as part of the refinery’s “unwavering commitment to national development”, adding that Dangote is determined to ensure a steady and uninterrupted fuel supply across the country.


CNG Trucks Set to Roll Out Nationwide

In another big development, the refinery announced it will begin phased deployment of 4,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered trucks for fuel distribution starting August 15, 2025.

This move is aimed at reducing distribution costs, boosting efficiency, and supporting Nigeria’s shift towards sustainable energy solutions.
