Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has dropped a bold take ahead of the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League — and Chelsea fans might not like it one bit.
Speaking on The Overlap podcast, the former defender said he doesn’t see the Blues making it out of the group stage this season.

Chelsea’s Champions League Return
Chelsea are back in the competition for the first time since 2023 after finishing fourth in the Premier League last season. The West London side will be hoping for a strong return, especially with their proud history in the tournament.
But Carragher isn’t convinced.
“I don’t think Chelsea will qualify out of the Champions League group stage,” he stated confidently during the discussion.

Chelsea have lifted the famous trophy twice — first in 2012, and again in 2021 under Thomas Tuchel. But the upcoming season promises a tougher challenge, with Europe’s elite clubs in form and no easy groups in sight.
