Strasbourg Land Former France Youth Star Stefan Bajic

RC Strasbourg Alsace have officially completed the signing of Stefan Bajic (23) after the goalkeeper impressed during a summer trial with the club.

The French shot-stopper had been a free agent since leaving Bristol City at the end of last season. According to reports, Bajic was on the lookout for a new challenge, and Strasbourg—owned by BlueCo, the same group linked to Chelsea—opened their doors to him during pre-season.

Omo, pause first—this one sweet! Imagine being without a club one minute, then bagging a Ligue 1 contract the next. That’s pure grace!

Trial Turned Into Contract

Bajic’s trial with Strasbourg began towards the end of June, and he was even included in their pre-season training camp in Austria. The goalkeeper showed enough quality to convince the coaches, and with Strasbourg’s Ligue 1 opener against FC Metz coming up on Sunday, the club didn’t waste time in making things official.

Now, the deal is sealed. Bajic has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with Les Alsaciens.

Backup Role But Big Opportunity

While Bajic won’t be the first-choice keeper immediately, he will serve as backup to Mike Penders, the Belgian goalkeeper who recently joined Strasbourg on loan from Chelsea.

But let’s be real—goalkeeping positions are tricky. One injury, one suspension, or one poor performance from the main keeper, and boom! Bajic could suddenly find himself in the spotlight.

Career Revival Loading?

This move could mark the beginning of a new chapter for Bajic. From his days as a France youth international to his time in the EFL Championship, the young goalkeeper has shown glimpses of potential. Strasbourg’s faith in him, even with just a one-year deal, could be the stepping stone he needs to rebuild his career in Ligue 1.

Omo, this is going to hot. If Bajic grabs his chance, we might just be talking about one of Ligue 1’s surprise success stories of the season.
