A UEFA delegation was seen at Spotify Camp Nou on Thursday morning, carrying out an official inspection of the stadium’s progress.

The visit comes with construction works currently in overdrive, as Barcelona push to reopen their iconic home in time for the La Liga clash with Valencia on September 14th.

Barça’s Big Push

With the 2025/26 campaign already underway, Joan Laporta and his board are desperate to bring the team back to their spiritual home after more than a year away.

The club has accelerated renovations in recent weeks, with hopes high that Camp Nou could be declared fit for use sooner rather than later.

UEFA’s Role

According to Guillem Borràs Pérez of Jijantes, UEFA officials were welcomed on-site to:

  • Inspect the overall condition of the stadium
  • Assess whether Camp Nou meets requirements to host official matches
  • Review the pace of ongoing construction works

In the words of Jijantes:

“Barça have welcomed several UEFA workers this morning to oversee the condition of the Spotify Camp Nou and the progress of the construction work. At issue is the stadium’s viability for hosting matches in the early part of this season. Crucial days.”

What’s Next?

It remains to be seen whether UEFA will give the green light, but Thursday’s inspection marks a crucial step in Barça’s bid to reopen Camp Nou in just a few weeks’ time.

For the fans, the thought of hearing the Champions League anthem or singing the club hymn inside their beloved ground again is nothing short of goosebumps.

Camp Nou comeback? Na vibes we dey wait for.
