The transfer drama in France just got hotter as Lille OSC president Olivier Létang publicly called out Olympique de Marseille over their reported pursuit of Edon Zhegrova (26).

The Rumoured Deal

According to reports, Marseille have already reached an agreement on personal terms with Zhegrova, who was said to be ready to sign a five-year contract. All that was left, reportedly, was for Marseille to strike a deal with Lille.

But omo, here’s where the wahala starts – Lille’s president isn’t buying that story.

Létang’s Fiery Reaction

Speaking to the press after the UEFA Europa League draw, Olivier Létang didn’t hold back:

  • On Marseille’s conduct: “I’m surprised because we have had no contact with Marseille. The rules are clear; you’re not allowed to contact a player from another club without permission.”
  • On permission: “To date, I’ve not received any request from Marseille to speak to my player.”
  • On the coach’s involvement: “I heard this morning that the Marseille coach had spoken to my player. Surprising, but we’re never short of surprises with Marseille.”

Omo, see gbas gbos! This one fit spark real transfer beef.

Zhegrova’s Situation

The Kosovan winger remains under contract with Lille, and the club’s stance suggests that Marseille will need to go through the right channels if they truly want to land him.

Lille’s Europa League Draw

Away from the drama, Lille also discovered their Europa League opponents:

  • Home games: Dinamo Zagreb, PAOK, Freiburg, SK Brann
  • Away games: AS Roma, Red Star Belgrade, Young Boys, Celta de Vigo

Létang even joked, “It’s a long way to go until Istanbul,” referring to the final venue.
