Nigerian media personality, author, and entrepreneur Toke Makinwa is basking in the joy of motherhood as she celebrates her daughter, Yakira Eliana (fondly called Yaya), who just turned one month old.
The proud new mum, who welcomed her first child at the age of 40, took to Instagram to share a touching video of herself cradling her baby girl. In her caption, Toke expressed how deeply motherhood has transformed her, admitting she never imagined her heart could hold so much love.
A Mother’s Love ❤️
Reflecting on her journey over the past month, Toke wrote:
“It’s been a whole month of unbelievable moments. I didn’t think my heart could love anyone as much as I love you. Every version of love I thought existed is pale in comparison to what I’ve experienced, and I hear it’s only going to get better.
My baby girl, my YaYa, thank you for choosing me. I promise to do my best, I’ve got you.”

The star also affectionately described her daughter as “so yummy,” promising to cherish and protect her always.
Healing Through Motherhood 🌸
Just days earlier, the media personality revealed that her daughter has completely changed her life, healing the brokenness she had carried since childhood. She admitted that looking at her mini-me feels surreal, as she often gets lost in her baby’s “big ol’ eyes.”
In a heartfelt note, she also acknowledged how her daughter has upgraded her status, bringing indescribable peace and joy into her life.

Dreams Fulfilled 🙏
On her podcast, an emotional Toke shared that she had prayed earnestly to become a mother at 40. Miraculously, just a month after her milestone birthday, she discovered she was pregnant. Despite initial fears and months of anxiety, she has now embraced motherhood fully, describing her daughter as her biggest blessing.
She recalled:
“The gift of the Lord makes rich and adds no sorrow. For so long, I was afraid of what could go wrong, but now all I see is what God has made right.”
With Yaya marking her first month, Toke Makinwa continues to radiate gratitude, joy, and strength — proving that sometimes, God’s timing truly is perfect.
