Just when fans thought the drama was over, Omawumi has finally responded to Timaya’s controversial claim involving her, Waje, and a throwback Burna Boy studio session — and let’s just say she did not hold back.
Recall that Timaya, in a December 2023 interview, claimed that Burna Boy once boldly asked Omawumi and Waje to leave the studio, accusing them of doubting his dreams of flying private jets.
But Omawumi, during a fresh chat with Naija FM Lagos, debunked the entire story. “That thing no happen,” she declared, expressing deep irritation over what she called an unnecessary and condescending mention of her name.
“I’ve known Timaya for years. Why drag me while trying to hype Burna? It’s disrespectful. I’ve built my brand on mutual respect — I don’t talk down on colleagues, so why should he?”
Omo, this is painful sha. She didn’t just deny the incident — she even gave a detailed timeline, claiming the only known meeting involving all parties happened back in 2010, and no such drama occurred.
“The only time Burna, Waje, Timaya, and I were together was when Waje was recording. I left early because it was getting late. That’s it!”
She also warned against using false stories to go viral, adding that Burna Boy himself has never disrespected her or made such claims publicly.
