The wait is finally over! Brighton & Hove Albion have officially welcomed Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozieinto their Women’s Super League squad.
Omo, this one sweet die for Super Falcons fans!
The 24-year-old joined the Seagulls on a free transfer back in July after ending her spell with French side Paris FC. However, her unveiling was delayed as she was busy making history with Nigeria at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) in Morocco.
A Hero’s Arrival
Fresh from being crowned Best Goalkeeper of the tournament — and helping the Super Falcons lift a record-extending 10th WAFCON title — Nnadozie finally linked up with her new teammates.
And what a reception it was! She was greeted with Nigerian flags, loud applause, and a standing ovation from the Brighton squad and staff on her very first day.
Omo, na proper VIP welcome be this!
Set for No.1 Role
Nnadozie is expected to slot straight in as Brighton’s first-choice goalkeeper for the new season under head coach Dario Vidosic.
The Seagulls kick off their WSL campaign at home against Aston Villa on Sunday, September 7, at the Broadfield Stadium. They’ll be looking to build on their impressive fifth-place finish from last season.
With Nnadozie between the posts, Brighton fans are hoping this season could be even bigger.
