Barcelona may have cruised to a 3–0 win over Mallorca on Saturday night to launch their La Liga title defence, but omo, the match no finish without serious drama.

The big talking point came before Ferran Torres’ goal, Barca’s second of the evening. Mallorca captain Antonio Raíllo had gone down after the ball struck his head, but instead of stopping play, referee Munuera Montero allowed the action to continue. Seconds later, Ferran smashed home — cue wild protests from Mallorca players and fans.

Now, Spain’s Technical Committee of Referees (CTA) don confirm say the official got it wrong.

According to reliable source Archivo VAR:

“The CTA rules in favor of Real Mallorca: Munuera Montero should have stopped the play. The referee had the time and opportunity to halt the game, especially with the ball in the air. Even bringing the whistle to his mouth without blowing could have confused the players.”

Shey you see am? That kind thing fit change momentum completely. Even though Barca went on to score three and Mallorca had two red cards, Mallorca fans dey argue say the moment spoil the whole balance of the match.

Now the question be — will La Liga start taking stricter actions against refs, or na just another case of “sorry, next time”?
