Damning Report Links FCT Minister Nyesom Wike to Secret $2 Million Florida Mansion and Fresh Land Allocation Scandal

Fresh explosive revelations have emerged against Nigeria’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as reports allege he secretly acquired a $2 million luxury mansion in Florida, United States, in March 2025.

According to official U.S. public records obtained by West Africa Weekly, the mansion was not purchased in Wike’s name but in the names of his wife, Justice Eberechi Wike, and their three children – Joaquin, Jazmyne, and Jordan.

Omo, this one choke! Using family names to allegedly cover tracks on such a massive purchase?

The Florida Mansion

The property, located at 113 Spring Creek Lane, Winter Springs, Florida 32708, is a two-storey residence built in 1997. Sitting on a 4,076-square-foot lot, it comes with multiple bedrooms, a garage, and two dedicated parking spaces.

Sources quoted in the report claimed Wike deliberately omitted his own name to avoid scrutiny over asset declarations and questions about the source of funds.

The Salary vs The Mansion

Here’s where it gets more controversial. With an official annual salary and allowances of about ₦7.8 million (roughly $5,000), reports argue there is no legitimate way Wike could have afforded a $2 million U.S. mansion without dipping into other questionable sources.

This raises suspicions of illicit enrichment and potential violations of Nigeria’s Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.

Justice Wike’s Alleged Involvement

The scandal also puts Wike’s wife in the spotlight. Justice Eberechi Wike, a serving judge, is reportedly a registered member of the U.S. Democratic Party – a move that allegedly violates the Nigerian Judicial Code of Conduct, which forbids judges from partisan political affiliations.

Omo, see double wahala – from mansion matters to judicial code breaches!

Furthermore, her involvement in the property acquisition conflicts with rules that demand judges avoid any appearance of impropriety.

The Abuja Land Allegations

Beyond the U.S. property, Wike has also been linked to fresh land allocation controversies. According to Peoples Gazette, the minister allegedly signed 33 land allocations in Abuja on July 16, 2025, many of which went to his family members and close associates.

Reported beneficiaries include his 90-year-old father, Joshua Wike, who was allocated a plot in Guzape II valued at over ₦400 million, as well as his cousins, nephews, and other relatives.

This comes just months after similar reports in April 2025, when six of his family members allegedly received prime plots of land in the same Guzape II district.

Omo, land for papa, land for cousins, land for siblings – Lagos landlords fit dey jealous by now!

Washington’s Silent Role?

Interestingly, the revelations also raise questions for the U.S. authorities. Just in July, the U.S. Embassy in Abuja openly criticised Nigerian officials for reckless spending and corruption. Yet, the alleged laundering of millions through the American real estate market by a serving Nigerian minister appears to have gone unchecked.
