Eric Junior Dina Ebimbe (24) is set to make his way back to Ligue 1. The Paris Saint-Germain academy graduate, currently with Eintracht Frankfurt, will join Stade Brestois on loan with an option to make the move permanent, according to L’Équipe.
Dina Ebimbe has been searching for a way out of Frankfurt for months, especially after injuries stalled his progress. One such injury even caused a proposed move to AS Monaco in January to collapse.
Interest in the midfielder has remained high, with OGC Nice making inquiries earlier this summer, but Brest moved decisively. Omo, they didn’t waste time. 👀
Looking to fill the gap left by Pierre Lees-Melou, who just sealed a switch to Paris FC, Brest and Frankfurt have now struck an agreement. Dina Ebimbe is expected to undergo his medical on Saturday, after which the deal will be finalised.
Akliouche Chooses France Over Algeria
Meanwhile, another Ligue 1 starlet is making headlines — Maghnes Akliouche (23) has received his first France senior call-up.
Speaking to reporters, the Monaco midfielder admitted he was stunned:
“Honestly, I’m very proud. It is a great surprise for me.”
Akliouche had the choice of representing Algeria, his parents’ homeland, but he insisted that France was always the “logical continuation” after featuring for Les Bleus at youth level and at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
“I have deep respect for Algeria,” he said. “But I have always been in the France national team… It was a logical conclusion.”
The 23-year-old revealed that he discovered his selection while watching the squad announcement live on TV. Minutes later, he received a congratulatory call from Thierry Henry, one of his former managers.
Omo, talk about a proud moment. From the academy to the Olympics, and now Les Bleus — Akliouche’s rise is finally paying off.
What Next?
- Brest will be hoping Dina Ebimbe’s arrival provides midfield stability as they chase their first Ligue 1 win of the season.
- Akliouche, on the other hand, faces fierce competition in a stacked French midfield, but this call-up could be the start of a long international journey.
Either way, Ligue 1 fans are in for plenty of drama both on the pitch and in the transfer market.
