The controversy around fuel pricing in Nigeria just got hotter, as Dangote Refinery has been accused of selling petrol to international traders at a cheaper rate than what it allegedly offers to local marketers.

According to reports from fuel importers and confirmed by the Depot and Petroleum Product Marketers Association of Nigeria (DAPPMAN) and the Petroleum Products Retail Outlet Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN), the refinery allegedly gives international buyers in Lome, Togo petrol at ₦65 cheaper per litre than Nigerian marketers.

Omo, if this allegation na true, wahala dey o! How petrol go be cheaper for outsiders than for home?

DAPPMAN Reacts – Calls It a Ploy to Kill Competition

In a strong statement on Saturday, DAPPMAN’s Executive Secretary, Olufemi Adewole, claimed that members of the association had approached the refinery directly but discovered that petrol prices offered locally were higher than those given to international traders.

He noted that in some cases, importers even found it more economical to import fuel from outside the country than to buy directly from the refinery in Nigeria.

Adewole alleged:

“Sometimes, it’s even cheaper to import petrol than to buy from Dangote locally. Members have been sourcing from international traders in Lome because the price difference is clear.”

Omo, can you imagine? Buying Nigerian fuel abroad, only to bring it back into Nigeria!

Dangote Announces New Prices

The refinery recently made headlines when it announced a reduction in petrol prices, bringing it down from ₦865/litre to ₦841 in Lagos and the South-West, and ₦851 in Abuja, Edo, and Kwara.

It also introduced a direct distribution scheme aimed at cutting out middlemen.

But instead of calming the tension, this fresh reduction has been met with suspicion from DAPPMAN, who kicked against the move, describing it as an alleged attempt to stifle competition in the downstream sector.

Omo, this gist dey enter another level. 🚨

Dangote Refinery Pushes Back

On its part, Dangote Refinery downplayed the allegations, hinting that the marketers’ union might be behind the recent wave of criticisms.

The company suggested that DAPPMAN could even be fueling (pun intended 😅) the recent attack against the refinery by the Nigerian Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG).

Recall that NUPENG had accused the refinery of anti-union practices, claiming it barred tanker drivers from joining their union. The union even threatened a strike if the matter wasn’t resolved.

So you see, it’s not just about fuel prices anymore — union wahala is also on the table.

Key Facts at a Glance

Allegedly, Dangote sells petrol at ₦65 cheaper to foreign traders than Nigerian marketers.

DAPPMAN says sometimes it’s cheaper to import than buy from Dangote directly.

Refinery recently reduced prices locally to ₦841/₦851 depending on region.

PETROAN and DAPPMAN accuse Dangote of trying to stifle competition.

Dangote suggests DAPPMAN may be behind NUPENG’s recent protest threats.

Naija News reports that ace comedian Alibaba has spoken out in a new Instagram video about the killing that has been making global headlines.

The comedian described the case as “tragic” and went further to explain how it could have caused even deeper racial tensions if the suspect had been Black.

According to reports:

Academic Background

Interestingly, Robinson was considered academically brilliant. He had an ACT score of 34 and earned a scholarship to study at Utah State University in 2021.

But omo, story twist! He dropped out after just one semester.

Global Spotlight

The killing has since drawn worldwide attention, with many commentators warning that the case could ignite sensitive discussions around race, gun culture, and political ideologies in America.

According to him, the company suspended his friend for being absent at work — not knowing the young man had died a whole week earlier.

He tweeted:

“My friend got a mail today that he has been suspended for 3months for not coming to work. Not knowing my guy is Dead since last week Sunday. Life 😭💔”

Omo, this one weak everybody online.

Social Media Reactions Pour In

As expected, Nigerians wasted no time reacting:

Divine Mercy: “This is what happens when companies don’t care about their workers. They couldn’t even find out why he was absent at work in the first place.”

Clara Marah: “Why issue a suspension letter without first finding out what happened to the staff? The rest of the staff there need to be careful!”

Ify Croche: “Some companies no send your papa.”

Keiseyan: “Heartbreaking… the nonsense company didn’t care to find out first.”

Omo, Nigerians no dey sugarcoat matter at all.

The Bigger Issue

This incident has sparked conversations about how some companies in Nigeria treat their staff — often with little concern for their welfare beyond the job.

While the deceased family mourns their loss, the suspension letter only added salt to injury, reminding many of the cold and careless policies in certain workplaces.

Final Thoughts

A tragedy like this shows how important compassion is in the workplace. Beyond rules and HR policies, employees are human beings with lives that deserve dignity.

During his TVC interview on Sunday, Governor Uba Sani made it clear that he does not see himself as El-Rufai’s mentee.

He said bluntly:

“I don’t think it is necessary for me to respond to that comment because for me, it is something I have no time to respond to.”

Omo this gist dey hot o! He didn’t even waste time dragging it.

Who He Recognizes As His Leaders

Instead of El-Rufai, Uba Sani pointed to two figures as his true political influences:

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu – whom he said he first met back in 1994 at the home of activist Beko Ransom-Kuti.

Chief Gani Fawehinmi (late) – whom he described as a father figure who sheltered him during years of political struggle.

Omo, Sani no even hide am — he gave full credit to Tinubu and Gani.

What El-Rufai Had Claimed Earlier

In a recent Channels TV interview, former Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai boasted that he had mentored many people, including Uba Sani.

He said:

“Uba Sani is one of my mentees. I developed many of them. My biggest pride in life is that I’ve elevated many people… I’ve encouraged and mentored many people to greatness.”

That statement, however, didn’t sit well with his successor.

Sani’s Final Word – Focus On Governance

Governor Sani stressed that he won’t be dragged into personal battles.

He said:

“If someone is speaking about me, I will not comment. But what I can say here is that I’m focusing on Kaduna. I don’t talk about individuals, my focus is Kaduna. I don’t get distracted, my eyes are on the ball.”

The Backstory

It’s worth noting that Sani actually served as El-Rufai’s political adviser (2015–2019) and even got El-Rufai’s support to become senator for Kaduna Central in 2019.

But omo, fast forward to 2025, the political story has clearly taken a different turn.

According to reports, the US Department of State has unveiled a fresh change in its visa application process.
This follows closely after they recently introduced social media requirements for applicants.

And now, omo, they’ve added another layer to the process.

The New Rule Explained

The new policy states that:

All non-immigrant visa applicants must now schedule their interviews only at the US Embassy or Consulate in their home country (where they hold nationality or legal residence).

No more moving around to apply from other countries just because slots are faster there.

Omo, if you were planning to “waka go another country” for faster interviews, that move don jam wall now .

When Did It Start?

This development officially took effect on September 6, 2025.
So, if you’re applying after this date, the new rule applies to you without exception.

Why The Change?

According to the State Department, the main goal is to:

Streamline visa adjudications (basically, make things more organized)

Tackle global visa backlogs (omo, we know how long the waiting list dey)

Handle security concerns more effectively

So, in their words, it’s all about order and safety.

What This Means For Nigerians

For Naija applicants, it simply means no shortcuts anymore. If you’re applying for a US non-immigrant visa, your interview must be booked at the US Embassy in Abuja or the US Consulate in Lagos – no more “detour strategies.”

Omo, this one go shock many people wey don dey find their way around the system.

Stay glued, because this policy is fresh, and its impact on applicants around the world – including Nigeria – go soon show clearly.

Popular Nigerian comedian Ali Baba has reportedly been thrown into fresh controversy following claims that he has been evicted from his multi-million naira mansion in Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to reports from Legit NG, the comedy legend, alongside his company XQZMOI TV, was forced out of the property located at 324A Akin Ogunlewe Street. The eviction was carried out by bailiffs of the Federal High Court, acting on a writ of possession signed on August 15, 2025.

How Ali Baba Got The Mansion

The mansion, said to be worth around ₦220 million, was reportedly acquired by Ali Baba in 2021 through the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON).

However, trouble began when AMCON claimed it was recovering debts allegedly owed by Harold Expansion Industries Nigeria Limited.

The Legal Battle Behind The Property

Interestingly, Harold Expansion Industries disputed the claims, arguing that they had already repaid the debt in question.

Their lawyer, Benjamin Olayiwola Sadibo, insisted that the property was wrongfully sold, sparking a legal tussle that eventually led to the reported eviction.

Ali Baba Yet To Respond

As the news continues to generate reactions online, neither Ali Baba nor his management team has released an official statement regarding the alleged eviction.

For now, fans and industry watchers are eagerly waiting to hear his side of the story. Omo, this gist go hot if Baba finally talks .

Embattled senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, is gearing up for a dramatic return to the Senate later this month after completing her six-month suspension.

Her lawyer, Victor Giwa, revealed that the lawmaker is currently on vacation in London but will rejoin her colleagues once the Senate reconvenes on September 23.

“She’s ready to resume her term. Everything is in place, and the suspension period has expired. The only thing left is her resumption,” Giwa told PUNCH.

No Resistance from Senate Leadership

According to Giwa, the Senate leadership is also prepared to welcome her back without opposition.

“We have been told that even the leadership of the Senate is ready to welcome her. So there is no obstacle at all,” he said.

Why She Was Suspended

Recall that Natasha was suspended on March 6 after she rejected a reassignment of her designated seat during plenary, an action the Senate described as insubordination.

The punishment, recommended by the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, saw her lose office privileges, aides, and salaries.

However, Natasha insisted that the move was politically motivated, linking it to her petition against Senate President Godswill Akpabio, whom she accused of sexual harassment — an allegation that the Senate dismissed.

Court Drama and Attempted Return

Although she secured a court ruling which she said supported her recall, the Senate maintained that the suspension would run its full six-month course.

In July, Natasha attempted to return to plenary but was blocked by security operatives, sparking a heated confrontation as her supporters staged protests outside the National Assembly.

Countdown to Her Comeback

With her suspension officially ending last Saturday, her lawyer stressed that ongoing court cases won’t stop her reinstatement.

“Everything will be resolved. Even the court cases will become like an academic exercise,” Giwa assured.

Now, all eyes are on September 23, when Natasha is expected to make her big return to the red chamber — and Nigerians are waiting to see how hot the atmosphere will get.

The Nigerian government has reportedly issued a 24-hour ultimatum to X.com, demanding the removal of a tweet by activist Omoyele Sowore that criticized President Bola Tinubu’s recent statement in Brazil claiming corruption has ended in Nigeria.

The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially moved against a viral tweet by politician and activist Omoyele Sowore, which directly criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In the now-controversial post, Sowore wrote:
“This criminal @officialABAT actually went to Brazil to state that there is NO MORE corruption under his regime in Nigeria. What audacity to lie shamelessly!”

According to reports, the post was deemed by authorities as misleading and capable of inciting unrest.

DSS Issues a 24-Hour Ultimatum

In a letter dated September 6, 2025, and signed by Mr. B. Bamigboye on behalf of the Director General of the Department of State Service (DSS), the Federal Government directed X.com to delete the tweet within 24 hours.

The DSS maintained that the publication violated multiple Nigerian laws, including:

Section 51 of the Criminal Code Act (Cap 77) – Prohibits publication of false information.

Sections 19, 22, and 24 of the Cyber Crime Act (2025) – Criminalizes fake news, misleading online content, offensive posts, and cyber harassment.

Section 2 of the Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act (2022) – Restricts content deemed capable of provoking ethnic, religious, or political unrest.

The letter alleged that the tweet was not only embarrassing to the President but also capable of causing “nationwide chaos” and damaging Nigeria’s image internationally.

Government’s Position

The DSS described Sowore’s statement as:

“Misleading information”

“Online harassment and abuse”

“Capable of discrediting the President of Nigeria in the comity of Nations”

“A threat to national security.”

It further warned that both the author and the platform (X.com) could be held criminally liable if the tweet remains online.

Next Steps

The letter concluded with a stern warning:
“This demand is unequivocal with its attendant consequences. Should you fail, neglect, and refuse to comply… the Federal Government of Nigeria will be compelled to take far-reaching sweeping measures.”

As of press time, it remains unclear whether X.com has responded to the government’s ultimatum.

Social media has once again been set on fire after a young lady, Presh Glams, opened up about her family matter. According to her, her father remarried not long after her mother’s passing — and the new wife is just 24 years old.

Now here’s where it gets interesting… Omo, this one hot o. Presh claimed that despite the unusual age gap, the new stepmother often sends her WhatsApp messages to check on her well-being and education.

The Viral Clip

In the video Presh shared online, a voice note from her stepmother could be heard asking about her welfare and studies. The clip, according to reports, quickly spread across TikTok and X (formerly Twitter), drawing all sorts of reactions.

She captioned the post:
“Dad married a 24 years old lady after you lost your mum and her checking up on you always seem to amaze you.”

Social Media Reactions

As expected, Nigerians did not keep quiet. The comment section was buzzing with mixed takes:

@Xally: “What is wrong with that? She is actually lovely.”

@🔞SEXY⏱️TIME💣BOMB🌋: “Your mum will always be the best, but please don’t make her feel like she’s doing too much. Trust me, she just wants to bond with you. That’s all.”

@Mercymylove🤭: “Are you guys not getting the point! Her dad is in his 70s, the wife is 24! Omo 2001. In what world does that make sense?”

@.: “I lost my mum too and my dad has the right to remarry whoever he wants. My duty as his daughter is to stay out of the business.”

@kays.assortments1: “I think you should blame your dad not her or better still both of them, she’s not the only person in the picture.”

Omo, the takes are plenty. Some people are applauding the stepmother for trying to build a bond, while others can’t get over the huge age difference.

Bigger Question: Peace or Problems?

Life, as they say, must go on. But does moving on with a much younger wife bring healing to a family — or does it create more tension?

For now, the situation remains a talking point online. And remember, these claims are based on social media reports — nothing has been officially confirmed.
