Real Madrid have officially parted ways with one of their long-serving academy gems — and for fans who’ve followed his journey since day one, this one pain small.

According to reports making the rounds this week, 22-year-old right-back Lorenzo Aguado has sealed a move away from the Santiago Bernabéu after spending a whopping 15 years climbing through the club’s youth system.

Omo! Fifteen solid years? That’s no small journey.

Aguado’s name may not ring loud across Europe yet, but Real Madrid supporters — especially those who keep tabs on Castilla — will surely remember his brief but promising run with the senior team. He made three first-team appearances across La Liga and the Copa del Rey during the 2024/25 season. It wasn’t plenty, but it was a massive deal for a boy who started from the grassroots of Los Blancos’ academy.

But just when many thought he’d get more chances under Ancelotti or maybe go out on loan, boom! Transfer news drop like morning prayer.

Omo this is real!

📢 In a statement released by Segunda División side Albacete Balompié, the club announced:

“Alba strengthens its defensive line. Lorenzo Aguado Herrera signs for Albacete Balompié for the next three seasons following the transfer agreement reached with Real Madrid Castilla.”

Three-year contract, confirmed. No loan. Full transfer. Just like that.

Now, let’s be clear — Aguado’s move doesn’t come as a total shock to insiders. Some fans had allegedly noticed he wasn’t involved in Madrid’s pre-season training setup. Others claimed the club quietly decided it was time for him to seek regular football elsewhere to grow properly.

Still, after 15 years at one club, a permanent exit always feels heavy. Especially when it’s not accompanied by that “fairytale goodbye” moment.

But who knows? This could just be the breakout he needs. Many stars have left Madrid young, only to shine elsewhere and bounce back bigger — remember Marcos Llorente?
