Omo, football fans, the season hasn’t even started and the predictions are already rolling in — and this one is bound to spark debates from Madrid to Lagos. According to data from Opta’s supercomputer, reigning La Liga champions Barcelona are tipped as favourites to lift the trophy again in 2025/26.

Barca’s Treble-Defending Mindset

Hansi Flick’s men are still riding high after a historic treble-winning 2024/25 campaign, where they dominated Spain and beyond. Now, if the numbers are anything to go by, the Blaugrana could be on their way to another domestic crown.

But omo, wait first — let’s see how the supercomputer broke it down.

The Predicted Odds

Opta’s data allegedly gives Barcelona a 46.5% chance of clinching the La Liga title this season. That’s the highest in the league, leaving their rivals chasing.

Right behind them are arch-enemies Real Madrid, who, under new manager Xabi Alonso, are predicted to have a 32.1% chance of reclaiming the trophy.

Coming in third are Diego Simeone’s Atlético Madrid, but omo, their odds drop sharply to just 11.7% — still possible, but clearly an uphill battle.

The Rivalry Already Heating Up

With Barca and Madrid both making big summer moves, the stage is set for a dramatic season. If Flick can keep his squad focused and injury-free, the Catalans might just prove the supercomputer right. But as we all know, football no be mathematics — a single bad week can scatter all these numbers.

One thing is certain: whether you’re a Culé, a Madridista, or just here for the drama, La Liga 2025/26 is shaping up to be very spicy.

Portugal forward Joao Felix is making headlines again — this time, not for a killer goal or slick assist, but for the size of his bank alert.

The 25-year-old attacker has joined Al Nassr in Saudi Arabia and is now reportedly the fourth highest-paid player in the Saudi Pro League — omo, money dey this ball game oo!

According to Correio da Manha, Felix will now be pocketing a staggering €17.5 million annually, a huge leap from the reported €8 million per year he earned at Chelsea. For context, only the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, Riyad Mahrez, Karim Benzema, and Sadio Mane are above him in earnings at the moment.

But let’s not forget, this wasn’t always the vibe.

Felix burst into the football scene with a mad run at Benfica, earning him a blockbuster €126 million move to Atletico Madrid in 2019. That move had fans hyped, but things didn’t quite play out as expected. He struggled to adapt under Diego Simeone and was eventually loaned out to Barcelona, then Chelsea. Omo, career just dey move like ping-pong ball.

Now here’s where it got more wahala: despite showing glimpses of brilliance, Felix didn’t impress enough at Chelsea either and was loaned again — this time to AC Milan earlier this year. But guess what? The Italian side also opted against making the deal permanent. Omo this one pain small sha.

Reports claimed that Benfica were in talks to bring him back home, and Felix was even open to returning to the Estadio da Luz, but the numbers didn’t add up. The club reportedly couldn’t match Chelsea’s asking price — or Felix’s wage expectations. Aswear, money spoil market!

Then boom — Al Nassr entered the chat.

They offered Felix what others wouldn’t: a solid role beside his countryman Cristiano Ronaldo and a juicy pay bump. He signed the dotted line, and just like that, the former Chelsea star is now living large in the Middle East.

For now, fans can only hope this new chapter helps Felix rediscover the fire that made him one of Europe’s most talked-about young talents just a few years ago.
