Posting via his Truth Social account on Friday, Trump accused Khamenei of showing ingratitude despite allegedly saving his life.

“I knew EXACTLY where he was hiding, and I wouldn’t let Israel or the U.S. Armed Forces — the most powerful in the world — end his life. I SAVED HIM from a very ugly and disgraceful death, and he doesn’t even have to say ‘Thank you, President Trump,’” Trump stated.

The former president also revealed that his administration had considered lifting sanctions on Iran but abandoned the idea after Khamenei’s harsh remarks.

According to Trump:

“We were working on sanction relief and other things that could’ve helped Iran recover fully and fast… but no, I got hit with anger, hatred, and insults. Immediately, I ended all efforts toward sanction relief.”

Meanwhile, Khamenei, in his usual defiant tone, dismissed reports that Iranian nuclear facilities were damaged during the airstrikes, boasting that Iran had “defeated Israel and humiliated the U.S.”
