“I’d Create a Music City Between Ikate and Ilashe”

Speaking on the Honest Bunch Podcast, Isaac Fayose laid out a not-so-regular plan on how he would completely turn Lagos around financially. He claimed that the current government isn’t tapping into the state’s full revenue potential and that his entertainment-driven idea would boost both tourism and tech.

In his words:

“If I’m Lagos State Governor, I can generate two billion in six months… I will create a music city between Ikate and Ilashe. You only get there by boat. It’ll be an artist city to celebrate all our musicians and creatives… I’ll sell apartments for $1 million, invite Netflix, Google… even convert Yahoo boys to tech boys.”

Fayose’s Big Vision: Tech, Tourism & Entertainment

According to Fayose, the idea is to build an “artiste city” that will attract global brands and investments — from record labels to tech giants.

He added that poverty persists because access to financial support in Nigeria is frustrating, saying:

“No money. You go bank, they ask for your mama DNA before they give you loan. Meanwhile, the government is sitting on trillions.”
