According to Onda Cero journalist Alberto Pereiro, veteran defender David Alaba has finally completed his first full pre-season training session under new manager Xabi Alonso. And yes, he did it without any bandage.

Alaba’s journey back to fitness hasn’t been easy at all. The Austrian star has been battling setbacks and muscular issuesever since suffering a serious knee injury late in 2023.

In the last 18 months, he’s only managed to feature 14 times for Real Madrid. Omo, that’s painful for a player of his calibre.

His injury woes even ruled him out of Real Madrid’s recent Club World Cup campaign, denying him a golden opportunity to impress Alonso at the start of his reign.

Early this week, the 33-year-old finally showed signs that he’s ready to fight for his place again. Sources claimed he completed the entire training session without discomfort, moving freely and looking sharp.
